DO NOT DELIBERATELY LIE AGAINST GOD OR HIS SERVANTS
I just want to share briefly because of somebody. Many people’s source of trouble is because of this.
If you’re one of this, you would need to go to that man of God and ask for forgiveness.
I saw two instances in Jeremiah and I was afraid.
1. *Shemaiah
Jeremiah 29:31-32 KJV
Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith the Lord concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite; Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he caused you to trust in a lie: [32] Therefore thus saith the Lord ; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the Lord ; because he hath taught rebellion against the Lord.
From the above, it was obvious Shemaiah knew the mind of God about the fate of sinners like Judah, but to win followers he lied contrary to the coming judgement.
God was angry and destruction was prophesied upon him
Shemaiah spoke contrary to God and God was wrought with him.
Many of us knew that somebody is threading on the path of destruction but because we want to enjoy the relationship we failed to reprimand him it’s a lie that angers God.
In Ezekiel God warn the watchman to warn sinners
When you know the mind of God, be careful to follow lies
2. *Hananiah*
Jeremiah 28:15-17 KJV
Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The Lord hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie. [16] Therefore thus saith the Lord ; Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast taught rebellion against the Lord. [17] So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.
Hananiah came to challenge the words of God through Jeremiah.
This was what led to his early death.
You don’t brag contrary to God. This brings judgement
This refers many to prophets who because of their interests fail to preach the whole truth.
Don’t water down judgement, truth or mind of God. This has judgement
In the case of Hananiah, he thought he was fighting against Jeremiah. He failed to see God who was behind the scene.
In the same light, if you know you’re wrong, don’t be at loggerhead with a man of God.
In every true man of God is God who answer for him.
Do you know those to fear? People who will not reply when you wrong them
Jeremiah wouldn’t fight back Hananiah but God would on his behalf.
Hananiah died that same year.
Recently I had an issue where I was trying to end a quarrel between a couple.
Then the husband talked so I’ll of me that I felt very bad… Trying to help. Everybody for the moment saw me as the one who was affecting the relationship
I just refused to utter a word to reply to his lies.
Not quite long, he went publicly before those he painted me black to, and he acted before them at the highest level of absurdity.
Be careful about people who are truly children of God, you can’t hurt them or malign them and go free except you repent.
And if you’re a child of God, after standing with God, care less what people say to you or about you. At appointed time you will be vindicated.
