    Introduction

    Every generation produces gifted leaders, but only a few become transformational leaders. Education, experience, skills and influence are valuable, but they are not enough to fulfil God’s assignment.

    The greatest advantage a Christian leader possesses is not intelligence, connections or resources—it is the presence of the Holy Spirit.

    The Holy Spirit enables ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary assignments. Throughout Scripture, men and women who partnered with the Holy Spirit achieved results beyond human explanation. As a strategic leader, your greatest asset is not what you know but Who leads you.

    1. The Holy Spirit Makes Ordinary People Extraordinary

    Before the Day of Pentecost, the disciples were ordinary men. Many were fishermen with little formal education. They struggled with fear, uncertainty and limitations.

    However, everything changed when the Holy Spirit came upon them.

    Within a short period, timid followers became fearless leaders. They preached with boldness, performed miracles, influenced nations and transformed the world.

    The Holy Spirit did not merely improve them—He completely transformed them.

    Leadership Principle

    God does not look for perfect people. He looks for available people who will allow the Holy Spirit to work through them.

    2. The Holy Spirit Is the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding

    Isaiah describes the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge and the fear of the Lord.

    Strategic leadership requires more than information.

    It requires divine insight.

    The Holy Spirit enables leaders to:

    • Think beyond human limitations.
    • Solve difficult problems.

    When Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dream, Pharaoh recognised that something distinguished him from everyone else.

    He declared:

    “Can we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the Spirit of God?” (Genesis 41:38)

    Joseph did not merely interpret dreams.

    He designed a national economic strategy that preserved Egypt during years of famine.

    His leadership demonstrates that the Holy Spirit is not only interested in church ministry. He empowers leaders in government, business, education, agriculture, economics and every sphere of influence.

    Game Changer Principle

    The Holy Spirit does not only reveal problems—He reveals solutions.

    4. The Holy Spirit Is the Source of Creativity

    Proverbs 8 reveals the Spirit of wisdom actively involved in creation.

    Creation itself demonstrates divine intelligence, order, planning and excellence.

    Whenever the Holy Spirit inspires a leader, creativity is released.

    He gives ideas.

    He reveals inventions.

    He births new systems.

    He opens doors that human intelligence alone cannot discover.

    Leaders who walk with the Holy Spirit become solution providers.

    5. Strategic Leaders Must Go Beyond Human Ability

    Natural ability has limits.

    Education has limits.

    Experience has limits.

    Human wisdom has limits.

    The Holy Spirit has no limits.

    Many people possess impressive qualifications, yet they struggle to fulfil their purpose because they rely solely on human strength.

    Jeremiah 33:3 gives God’s invitation:

    “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”

    The Holy Spirit reveals hidden strategies that cannot be learned in classrooms.

    6. The Holy Spirit Came Upon Leaders Before Great Assignments

    Throughout the Old Testament, leaders operated effectively because the Spirit of God came upon them.

    Each accomplished extraordinary exploits because God empowered them through His Spirit.

    Leadership without the Holy Spirit often produces exhaustion.

    Leadership with the Holy Spirit produces lasting impact.

    7. Jesus Christ: Our Perfect Leadership Model

    Jesus never relied on human ability.

    He was conceived by the Holy Spirit.

    He was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness.

    He ministered through the power of the Holy Spirit.

    Acts 10:38 declares:

    “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good…”

    If the Son of God depended upon the Holy Spirit, no Christian leader can succeed without Him.

    Genesis tells us that Adam’s body was formed from the dust of the earth.

    Yet Adam remained lifeless until God breathed into him.

    The breath of God brought life.

    Likewise, leadership without the Holy Spirit may have structure, plans and activity, but it lacks divine life.

    Without His breath, leadership becomes mere activity.

    In Acts 19, Paul encountered believers who had not yet received the Holy Spirit.

    After receiving the Holy Spirit, their lives changed dramatically.

    The early Church became a movement that transformed cities, cultures and nations.

    God is still looking for leaders who will partner with His Spirit to influence this generation.

    The world does not merely need talented leaders.

    The world needs Spirit-filled strategic leaders.

    “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

    Understanding the timing of your life’s vision is crucial for maintaining peace and patience. Every vision and purpose has its own season. No matter how much you strive to realize your vision prematurely, it will not come to fruition before its appointed time. Misunderstanding this can lead to frustration and even the demise of your dream. Faith plays a key role here, helping you trust in God’s timing and wait patiently for the fulfillment of your vision.

    Think of fruit: no matter how eager you are, you cannot enjoy certain fruits out of season. You must wait for the appointed time. The verse from Habakkuk teaches us two important lessons:

    1. Every vision is for an appointed time.

    2. The vision may not manifest immediately, so we must wait for it.

    Understanding these principles helps us reduce stress and trust God through seasons of waiting. Let’s explore two case studies to illustrate these points.

    ### Case Study 1: Joseph, the Son of Jacob

    Joseph’s life is a powerful example of waiting for God’s timing. Early in his life, God revealed his purpose and destiny through dreams. However, Joseph faced a series of trials: being thrown into a pit, sold into slavery, and imprisoned. Despite these setbacks, he held onto his vision and remained faithful, refusing to corrupt himself along the way.

    A critical lesson from Joseph’s story is his patience. He possessed the gift of interpreting dreams and the ability to dream prophetic dreams, yet he waited for God’s appointed time. This teaches us that our gifts, talents, and abilities do not always need improvement; sometimes, they simply require the right moment to be revealed.

    Consider a seed of corn: it is complete in itself, needing nothing extra to become a whole plant. However, it must wait for the right environment to sprout, germinate, and grow. Similarly, Joseph lived his life day by day until the king called him to the palace. Had he attempted to reach the palace prematurely, he would have been rejected. This is why, despite your abilities and potential, you might feel unnoticed. Your gifts have their place and time for fulfillment.

    The key during these waiting periods is to trust the Lord. Believe that He who began the good work by giving you your talents will bring them to fruition at the appointed time.

    Just as Joseph waited for his moment, we must also trust that our visions will come to pass when the time is right. Remember, the vision will surely come—it will not delay. Trust in God’s perfect timing, and you will find peace in the waiting.

    The second person is David. As a young boy, he was anointed to be king after Saul, yet more than ten years passed, and instead of ascending the throne, he became a homeless vagabond. It took the death of King Saul for David to finally emerge as the king of Israel. During this time, he endured many trials, as vividly described in the book of Psalms.

    Before you lay complaints and murmur before God, remember that God knows what He’s doing. There is a process that culminates in fulfillment at the appointed time. The most important ingredient between the vision and its fulfillment is the waiting period.

    If we fail to wait, like a butterfly that emerges too early from its cocoon, we risk sinking into oblivion. The butterfly becomes beautiful because it waits through the process. You too must go through the process patiently to emerge as your best self.

    Isaiah 40:30-31 (KJV) says: “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

    Waiting upon the Lord is the secret to fulfilling one’s life vision.

    Jesus, in affirming the importance of work, stated, “My Father works, and I also work” (John 5:17). This declaration reinforces the divine nature of work, indicating that God Himself is actively engaged in productive endeavors. It emphasizes that work is not just a human obligation but a reflection of the very nature of God.

    Productivity is not merely about busyness but about fulfilling one’s purpose and contributing to the well-being of others. In the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30), Jesus illustrates the significance of utilizing one’s abilities and resources productively. The servants who invested and multiplied their talents were commended, while the one who buried his talent faced consequences.

    The Apostle Paul, in various letters, underscores the importance of work and productivity. He encourages the Thessalonians to “aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands” (1 Thessalonians 4:11). Paul himself set an example by working diligently to support his ministry and not burdening the communities he served (1 Corinthians 9:12).

    It’s crucial for Christians to understand that work, when approached with a godly perspective, becomes a means of glorifying God. The Proverbs affirm the value of diligence: “In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty” (Proverbs 14:23).     PURPOSE AND PHASES OF MANIFESTATION

    Many people lived all their lives as the same version they started with.

    Like books, we need to be updated, upgraded and to become a better version of ourselves. We have individuals who all their lives remain what they used to be.

    You wonder why some never changed jobs or get promoted. The reason is often because they failed to upgrade who they are and what they do.

    This is also the reason why some businesses never grow beyond what they used to be some time ago. The same applies to other areas of life.

    God want us to improve, he wants us to scale up. Nobody is expected to remain the same way he or she began in life.

    The main culprits are the ministers of God, they often don’t believe in the evolution or expansion of their calling. By so doing they live all their lives as ordinary beings. Even when God is trying to add to their assignment and increase the workload of their job description in the Kingdom they give excuses why things must remain as they used to be.

    They are the Zacharias who give excuses for why they couldn’t give birth to new dreams.

    MOSES

    Moses was not stagnant in his purpose for his generation.

    He started as a shepherd before God upgraded him to become the saviour or rather the deliverer of Israel from Pharaoh and Egypt.

    Along the line, the same Moses became the prophet of God to the people. Lastly, this same Moses was given the principal responsibility to anoint Aaron and his children into the office of perpetual priesthood.

    The same Moses who was a shepherd who became a leader, a prophet and a priest; illustrates the different sides of the same person.

    God expects his chosen one to become versatile in discharging his responsibility to his generation.

    AMOS

    Amos was a cattle rearer among his fellow friends and family at Tekoa.

    He was having a nice time until God came to him and gave him prophetic messages to Israel and his generation.

    Amos metamorph and moved upward to represent God to his generation. Today we are still reading what this prophet wrote and its application to our generation.

    If you too will open your heart to the lord he will make use of you and he will anoint you to serve a greater purpose.

    DAVID

    In a nutshell, David too grew through various phases.

    He too upgraded through different versions of himself. He started as a shepherd then he became a musician in the palace. Afterwards, he led a band in the desert for years as a warrior and a general. From this position, he became the King of Judah and then over the entire Israel as a nation.

    In the course of discharging his royal responsibility, he attained another dimension of himself – a prophet. Many things which he wrote about transcend times into the days of Jesus the Messiah.

    Many of us retain just a version of our old ourselves throughout our lifetime.

    Search deeply you will find the other version of yourself calling for expression.

    PAUL

    Paul started as a scribe; or what we will call a lawyer in our days.

    Along the line, he also trained as a tent maker; in our days that could be a name for an architect or a civil engineer. When he got converted he started as a disciple then he became an apostle. At the end of his days on earth, he was acclaimed as a leading apostle and an outstanding author who wrote about 2/3 of the New Testament.

    We learn from Paul to magnify our offices in Christ Jesus.

    It’s time to grow.

    JESUS

    Jesus too transformed from one phase of operation to another. This is pointing us to the dynamic nature God expects us to put forth as we live here on Earth.

    Jesus Christ was once the son of a carpenter, he proceeded to become a carpenter.

    He didn’t stop here, when he was full of age he became a teacher and a prophet of God in the discharge of his responsibilities. At the close of his life, he died for the sins of the whole world to assume a new office; the Savior.

    Jesus Christ in the coming age will assume a new title: the King of Kings. This same Jesus, different phases, different responsibilities, different offices and different roles as demanded at each level of operation.

    FINALLY

    You cannot afford to remain the same old you.

    Whoever you are, you need to learn from the biblical characters that every phase of life requires us to operate based on the need of the hour.

    This is calling us to become well-prepared, trained and dynamic.

  • Focus on Needs

    It’s important not to get caught up in seeking approval from others, but rather to focus on what needs to be done. Seeking validation solely from others can lead to short-term success, but building a lasting legacy requires meeting the needs of others. When you prioritize meeting the needs of others, you become a person of impact.

    An example of this is the story of David and Goliath. David was not approved or expected to fight Goliath, but he took action anyway. Champions don’t wait for approval or applause, they take action and do what needs to be done.

    Similarly, when pursuing your own goals, it’s important to focus on the task at hand and not worry about who is or isn’t following you. Doing what needs to be done, even when it’s difficult or unpopular, will ultimately lead to success and recognition.

    It’s also important to remember that mastery takes time and practice. Even when you feel like you’ve missed the mark, keep firing and eventually you’ll develop the skills and expertise needed to succeed.

    In order to develop this kind of focus and determination, it’s important to be comfortable being alone and independent. This can help you stay focused on your goals without being distracted by external validation or pressure.

    Ultimately, if you stay committed to meeting the needs of others and doing what needs to be done, you’ll build a legacy that will make a lasting impact on the world.

    BUILDING UP POWER

    In today’s social media age, it is increasingly easy to measure our happiness and success by the number of likes, followers, and people attending our events. However, true power does not come from these external validations. Rather, it is built from within through spending time with God in the secret place of prayer and meditation.

    John, who measures his self-worth through social media likes, and Jude, who judges his ministry by the number of attendees, are both at risk of losing their power. Building up power is not about increasing followers or outward displays of success. Instead, true power comes from developing a deep connection with God, from being alone with Him and seeking His will in our lives.

    David is an example of this. Samuel anointed him, but it was God who chose David and instructed Samuel to anoint him. David had already paid his dues in the dark recesses of the wilderness, and God found him. Moses, too, had to spend forty years in exile and then encounter God at Mount Sinai before he could become a deliverer.

    Even Jesus’ disciples were instructed to wait for the endowment of power before beginning their ministry. Luke 24:49 says, “And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” Rushing to showcase our calling without first building up power can lead to frustration and failure.

    In conclusion, true power is not conferred by humans, but it is developed through a personal relationship with God. External displays of power and success are ultimately unfulfilling without a strong foundation of internal strength and connection with God. Therefore, it is crucial to prioritize spending time in the secret place, seeking God’s will, and building up power before stepping out to fulfill our calling.
