THE RICHEST MAN IN THE WORLD

THE RICHEST MAN IN THE WORLD

Being rich is having no lack. It’s a state wherein you have what it takes to meet and satisfy your needs.

Therefore, riches is a relative term.

Defined by individuals, culture, circumstances and personality.

For example, the richest man living in my village could just be looked upon as a struggler in the city.

In some countries a billionaire is merely a millionaire in other nations.

To use all these extraneous factors to gauge riches is to set one’s life uphill.

To want to compare oneself to others in attempt to measure wealth is a silly children thinking.

One day, Paul Getty who was once the richest man in the world called his childhood friend who was an average man the truly richest man*

The friend who wasn’t known to own any substantial wealth refuted this claim.

Then Paul Getty told his friend how much he envy his simple lifestyle of contentment. Contentment truly reflects on buoyancy and joy within of our souls

Paul Getty has all the money in the world but has a miserable soul.

He died some years later by suicide.

No one can pursue money making in itself without God and would enjoy life.

Money alone cannot heal our aching heart.

Money cannot give us good relationship with others.

Money alone cannot make us find the path to heaven.

Inasmuch more money is good, contentment is much more better

Contentment is a better wage than cash.

*The level of contentment will determine the quality of a life.

Nations where the citizens learn to extol contentment above money will witness more growth, peace and stability.

The Bible called money uncertain riches…

It means we cannot build the foundation of our lives on money.

We cannot build our ministry on money.

We cannot build our businesses on money.

The reason: Money is uncertain…

1 Timothy 6:17 KJV
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, *nor trust* in *uncertain riches,* but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

The richest man is a man that has in control the rein of his soul, he is the man who could master his environment and he’s not one whom the environment controls.

Many of us when we lack money, our mood change and when we have money we seem excited.

This is a shame on our impoverished souls… When cash (paper) determines our moods.

By so doing we have turned money (the created thing) into a god.

As long as money and its forces still control our mood we remain miserable victim of the earth.

Until then you cannot command and rule over the elements of the earth.

If you cannot rule over money, money will rule over you.

The richest man is the person who had mastered to rule over money.

Somebody could possess large amount of money and remain a slave of money… Driven by money and acquiring more and more.

Restless and untiringly in pursuit.

When one couldn’t get to the point where he enjoys his money and bless others with it he is a slave of money.

He is impoverished.

How much you could spare from what you’ve is also an indicator of whether you’re wealthy or not

We will conclude this message with the widow’s mite:

Jesus said in other words that she is the richest person in the congregation

What’s Christ’s reason: she gave more than others in proportion to what she has

Mark 12:42-44 KJV
And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
[43] And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
[44] For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

Real wealth is measured in quality of life and not quantity of possession.

Go enjoy your life. Strive to gain mastery over your soul. Refuse to be slave to money and urge to compete…

Then you’ll be on your way to become the richest man indeed.

Prayer:

Lord, grant me the grace to live a very quality life.

For you give rest to your beloved.

Help me not to pursue those kinds of wealth that will take my peace away.

In Jesus name.
