IT IS NOT HOW MUCH YOU HAVE BUT THE HEART*
It is not until you have much before you can affect a life. A call, a flower gift, a smile, a thoughtful consideration will go a long way to make somebody’s life. In this life, you are expected to give from what you have and nothing more. Still, everyone has something to give except those who are ignorant of their endowment.
In recent time, somebody sent in money to me. I was happy because I needed money; then I remembered that somebody asked me for some help. I took it and sent the money. It wasn’t a large sum but it made a difference in that life. I have a friend who due to some bad effect of governance in Nigeria has his entitlements sat upon. I felt restrained not to call sometime ago because I was cash trapped. Still I called and he said: I am praying for all of you who are helping me. He recognized my token of love and help.
Some years ago, my wife met a woman who was not related in anyway. She had some money on her which the Lord compelled her to give to this woman in need. The woman had a very sick child, this money facilitated her moving the child to the hospital and the child was recovered. About 20 years later, the woman continues to live in appreciation for such timely help. Today, herself and the family are very rich far and above; and have since relocated to United Kingdom.
Give timely help.
The widow gave the least in terms of size but she gave the most quality offering because she gave her heart. The boy with the loaves of bread gave the last he had to Jesus; Jesus then multiplied it.
Never wait until you have abundance before giving out to others. It doesn’t have to be money; it could be your time, love or compassion. But like a seed, what you give tends to multiply with time.
What you have may seem to be small? Put it to use and watch it multiply. Do you remember that why the man with one talent in Jesus parable was banished was because he failed to make use of the small gift he has. The secret of growth is making effective use of the small which you have.
It is not the size of what you have but the heart to give.
What you give will determine the next open door in your life.
Prayer: Lord, give me the heart to give of my time, money and resources to your cause, work and purpose.
