CARELESS LOVER 3

LOVE NEEDS HELP

“Hello Jide, I will not be able to make it to the office. I have some other important project at hand. I will communicate with you as soon as I am through. Please handle the office as if I’m around.”

“Yes sir,” Jide responded, “I’ll make everything perfect; trust me sir.”

Felix hung the phone and smiled scantily.

Felix was set to tackle the issue of his marriage just the same way he deal with his business.

Based on his background he understood that marriage is an important project requiring utmost attention.

He read his Bible and prayed as he committed the day into God’s hand.

After this he flipped through some news on his phone. His breakfast was served, after which he looked at his watch for the umpteenth time.

“It’s time,” he said to himself. He picked the phone and gave Agnes a phone call, she gave Felix the description. By 11:00am he drove uptown to meet Agnes.

He revved the engine with carefree attitude until he got to Oyster, a fast food center.

He parked and walked in. He saw Agnes a tall beautiful lady of about 27. She waved to him and he went over to join her.

“Good morning Mr Felix,” she curtsied respectfully, “I hope everything is well sir?”

“Things aren’t too well,” he said as he sat down, “I have been bitten by a love bug. I need your help.” He said laughing as he sat beside her.

Felix went ahead to talk to Agnes, a good friend of Mary Mouton about the gentle butterfly within him causing him to become restless.

“Agnes, please be sincere with me. Who is Mary Mouton? I know as a friend you know so much about her.

“Hmm,” Agnes sighed. ” I should know why you want anything to do with her. I know you as the CEO of Experon Payment System not as a detective sir,” she smiled.

“Agnes,” Felix cleared his throat as he continued, “I love Mary Mouton. I have not been myself for days now.”

“Agnes, for days I’ve lost sleep. I don’t really know how my life would turn without Mary. Everyday she keeps dazzling me and with the growing days it keeps being confirmed that I have met the woman I’ve been waiting for a thousand years ago. Agnes, I say again, please I need your help.

“Now, I’m relieved to proceed. Mary Mouton is a rare lady. She lived in her own world.

In many ways she’s a spiritual lady. She believes deeply in Christ and she practices what she believes.

“Looking at this, vane men wouldn’t like a woman like her. So I wouldn’t want my friend to be hurt.

To be sincere Sir, rich guys like you cannot be in very real relationship; not for a very long time.

“Please, I don’t want you to break the heart of my friend, she is tender at heart.”

Agnes wanted to start going when Felix held her right hand firmly and pleaded for help.

Agnes sat back. She enquired of him how she might be of help.

“Agnes,” Felix said, “I’m naïve and inexperience in the matter of women. I have tried several times to summon the courage to speak with Mary, every time my courage melt away like Shea butter in the hot sun.

” I don’t think I can look up to her.”

“Sir,” Agnes quipped, “you wouldn’t ask me to talk to her on your behalf?”

“No Agnes, I wouldn’t do that. I want to build my lost boldness gradually. By talking to you, my confidence is beginning to return.”

Felix held her once again: “Tell Mary, I have a soft spot for her. Tell her I met with you. That’s all I want from you.”

She nodded.

“Before you leave,” Felix added, “please give me her phone number.”

She scribbled her number on paper and handed it over to him.

As Agnes was about leaving, she looked back and said:

“You wouldn’t say I didn’t say this, Mary Mouton is an angel but she’s hard to get at. I have to say this… She has an unconfirmed fear. Try your luck Sir.” Agnes said as she slide out of Crystal.

Felix sat back, looked at the number. He held his phone out and dialled…

“Hello,” a female voice spoke.

“Hmm, this is Felix Danule a brother from the church,”

“Is it official matter sir?”

“No,” his voice shivers yet he held his breath firm.

“This is official hour sir. I will call you back after work hour. Thanks.” Mary Mouton said as she hung the line.

Gently, Felix dropped his hands and smiled. He knew that the journey of a thousand miles start with a step.

“Yeah,” he shouted so loud everyone around looked to his direction, “the journey has begun.”

He rose gently with his car key in hand towards his car. He started the car, whistled along as he drove homeward.

The journey has begun.
