GRATITUDE HEALS FROM DEATH
The Bible says: a generation shall be unthankful.
If we have any generation as such, it is ours. We have a generation of grabbers and takers. Yet we are unfilled and never satisfied. Then we get depressed over the stress of our vain pursuit. Many souls are cut down due to ingratitude.
As a Christian man or woman, you should cultivate a daily life of thankfulness over everything. I mean everything. Even the pains have within a measure of thankfulness.
Our prayers should be: Father, open my eyes to see why I should be grateful.
As you show thankfulness, the burden is lifted and pain gone. Gratitude and depression are not friends.
Look through and change perspective and you’ll receive lightness of heart instead of a burdensome mind.
Somebody came to me recently crying and angered by the husband’s hardness of heart. She was right about that. I seem to brush aside talk about the ill treatment.
I told her in my characteristic manner: Some have their husband in the prison, some are drunkard, some pushed their wives out into the cold with children and some husbands are hardened criminals. Thank God for the gift and find way to reconciliation. Then keep your eyes on God who can perfect the imperfections.
The advice looks stupid from the regular counsel out there.
She felt better after the advice. With thankfulness the wisdom to get the husband into a better state of mutuality came upon her. And she healed.
Gratitude is the secret of healing of spirit, soul and body. Even our material prosperity rests on how grateful we are both to God and men.
Psalm 67:5-7 KJV
_Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. [6] Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. [7] God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him._
As you walk out this week, be grateful.
